Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot. While it’s commonly associated with heel pain, plantar fasciitis can cause discomfort anywhere along the sole of the foot. This is because the plantar fascia extends from the heel to the toes, and inflammation can affect different areas along this tissue.
